Valencia City Shore Excursion

Join your guide on a fascinating journey through the heart of Valencia, where history, culture, and modern innovation come together. Our City Highlights Tour is the perfect introduction, showcasing its most iconic landmarks in a single, unforgettable experience.

We begin at the stunning City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia’s modern masterpiece of architecture, where futuristic design meets culture and innovation.

After you will be driven on a panoramic tour of the city which include the dry river bed gardens of El Turia, Colon Market, Bull Ring, Central Train station and the Torres de Quart.

After the panoramic drive around the city it is time to see the rest on foot. Starting at the imposing Torres de Serranos, the ancient city gates that once protected Valencia and now offer a glimpse into its medieval past. You will walk up the steps to the top of tower to get some fantastic views of the city and river bed gardens.

Then you will be taken to one of the oldest Horchaterías in Valencia. Horchata is a non-alcoholic local drink made from tiger nuts and served cold. The nuts are grown in the farming region just surrounding the city called La Huerta. It is the only place in Europe to grow tiger nuts on a large scale. And it will be accompanied with a traditional home-made pastry.

Nearby, the Plaza de la Virgen awaits – a picturesque square surrounded by architectural treasures and the lively atmosphere of local life. Adjoining the plaza is the majestic Valencia Cathedral, home to centuries of history and legendary relics including the supposed Holy Grail cup. Skip the queue with your guide and enter to see its wonders.
Wandering through the charming streets, we’ll arrive at the circular Plaza Redonda, a unique hidden gem filled with traditional shops.

Next, you will visit the Mercado Central, one of Europe’s largest and most vibrant fresh food markets. Just across the street stands the magnificent Lonja de la Seda, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former silk exchange. You will tour inside the building and learn how important it was in making Valencia rich in its golden age of the 15 th century.

We finish our tour at the grand Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the city’s bustling main square lined with elegant buildings and lively cafés. Here you can decide if you would like to stay and explore more on your own or ask your guide to escort you to a taxi to get you back to the ship.
This is your private excursion and can be personalised in any way you would like. Let us know if you would like to spend more time being guided through the streets of the old town known as El Carmen with its cool bars, shops and artistic graffiti walls. Valencia’s old town is the
largest in Europe and the less touristy back streets are a hidden gem in the city.
